Xiyue

Here’s my most recent conference bio:

Xiyue Zhang (CFS ’28) studies at Carolina Friends School, with further coursework through UNC–Chapel Hill and NCSSM Online. At home in Beijing, Hong Kong, and North Carolina, Xiyue brings an international outlook to questions of public consequence. An effective altruist and a 2026 Non-Trivial Research Fellow, Xiyue pursues interests in political economy, emerging technology, institutional design, and cultural stewardship, with particular attention to the obligations imposed by knowledge and power.

Xiyue founded the Carolina Friends School Economics Club, has helped secure more than $7,000 in support for its work, and helped transition the school’s participatory-budgeting initiative to student leadership. Xiyue also volunteers and has interned at the North Carolina Museum of Art. Xiyue’s longstanding pursuits include cross-country, track, and the CFS spring musical, with appearances in Sweeney Todd and High School Musical.
